Hi guys. It is really nice to comeback to this forum after ages. I have a MacBook silicone and would like to know if anybody know how to capture handshake with it? I know the built in wifi adapter supports monitor mode thru sniffer. I have used it and captured some but it is not for specific network it just captures the whole channel idk If it can be cracked tho. I am waiting on your responses how to capture handshake with this MacBook silicone. Thanks a lot.

I also have attached what I captured so you guys can look at them as well.

Are you currently using aircrack? If so you are capturing ok but not sending any deauths to make a device reconnect, which is required to capture a handshake. Have a try with hcx or try sending some deauths

I am going to get a tp link t3u plus or t2u nano , and run kali, wifite, wifislax on vm and capture handshakes. I will also be trying to use built in wifi adapter on MacBook Pro M4 Silicone. ( Added the model so it will help people with same concern)

If you struggle, just get a cheap old laptop (non-MAC) and put Linux on it, problem solved!

The problem doesn't seem to be with the users hardware but rather the commands or software used to capture. The inbuilt card used is picking up traffic but not obtaining a handshake.

@yahyaisikk what commands are you running to obtain the capture? If there is an issue with the command then it doesn't matter what hardware you purchase, you still won't get a handshake.

It is from wireless diagnostic, sniffer option . There is no code involved. I could have used the terminal but Mac limited that option and not available anymore. I am in the middle of installing Kali Linux on MacBook Pro Silicone via UTM. I will be capturing handshakes soon and adding them here

I mean yeah. That works but I don't really have an access to old windows laptop at this moment. And if we can get it through via MacBook Silicone and adapter it would be helpful for people in my situation. I will also add step by step guide here.

Is the wireless diagnostic sniffer an apple thing? I don't use Mac software, even my Mac desktop runs linux.

USB Boot the MAC into linux? It should work, I have an IMAC (I think) that i've tested it on.

It is way easier than I expected it to be. There is a tool called UTM. It is basically VM for only arm64 processors(made for mac). I will be capturing more handshakes during the day when people come and connect. Also will post a complete tutorial how to do it if stuck with apple MacBook silicone.
